Swanky or Spanky in conjunction with the Newham Substance Misuse Partnership & the NHS have distributed 175,000 of their protective lids for glasses & foil covers for bottles to 92 licensed premises and drug/alcohol agencies throughout the London Borough.

The drive has been designed to highlight the drug and alcohol services available in the area by providing eye catching logos and helpline numbers on the products surfaces.
The lids are placed and fit snugly on the top of glasses to make it more difficult to insert substances into people’s drinks in the pub/club environment. The Drink Lids are cheap washable and reusable, fit most standard glasses and can incorporate any designs, logos, web sites or contact details on their surfaces.
The foils offer a disposable alternative specifically designed to fit bottles, and uniquely they stick to wet/damp bottles/surfaces. They have a 4mm slit in the middle suitable for the insertion of a straw and are suitable for any diameter of bottle, can, glass or container.

The products have been welcomed by owners and managers alike especially with the implementation of the smoking ban when customers often leave their drinks unattended.
The director Dawn Dines said, “This campaign highlights the willingness of the NHS and the Newham Partnership to contact people at base levels and provide them with details of what is available. They have recognised that the public want to stay safe and have provided my devices to do just that, but also they have paved the way to a healthier lifestyle and given access to treatment and advice services.”
Swanky or Spanky products also include designer underwear promoting safe sex with a unique pocket specifically intended to contain a condom and personal safety and sexual health workshops.
